Plush Stuffed Toys by Angeline Hope

The good thing about plush stuffed toys is that they never go out of style. It doesn’t matter what year it is, or even what century, plush stuffed toys have been and will continue to be with us well into the future.

When the first teddy bear was created by Margarete Steiff in 1902, it is hard to imagine that that little bear that could, would turn the world of plush stuffed toys on its ear. Even today, teddy bears are hailed as the world’s most popular toy. It has been loved by children and adults alike for more than 100 years. What started out as a humble nursery companion, has now become a valuable collector’s item that dominates the soft toy industry. A growing number of adults have confessed to loving their old teddy bears and have been prepared to pay increasingly large amounts of money for vintage bears, particularly those made by Margarete Steiff. There are teddy bears today that have such astronomical prices, they far outreach many collector’s pockets.

Since the creation of the teddy bear, there have been any number of other types of plush stuffed toys that have come into the market of stuffed animals, which are just as beloved [as the teddy bear] by both children and adults. People collect plush stuffed toys because they are irresistibly drawn to them. There is no denying that they touch the lives of all that come into contact with them. While some might argue that there is no plush stuffed toy that can ever rival the popularity of the teddy bear, look no further than the homes around the world which boast multiple types of plush stuffed toys. It may very well be that in some of those homes, teddy bears are not the plush toy that sits front and center in the collection; it could be a cherished plush turtle, or even a treasured stuffed tiger.

Plush stuffed toys are phenomenally successful in part because they are soft toys that appeal to both genders. The physical qualities of plush stuffed toys is just another trait that makes them so successful. Not only are they soft and snuggable, but they can even stand the rough-and-tumble treatment that is undoubtedly thrown their way every now and again. But, ultimately, plush toys have an immediate unselfish appeal. And all that own them, no matter their age, know instinctively that they are always there to help during times of hardship and are also around during the happiest of times.
