Action Man Today and Action Man Tomorrow
When I was a child action figures were the new thing. Every boy wanted an Action Man doll, only you didn’t call them dolls because they were what girls played with. You called them action figures.
These days there are literally thousands of action figures for boys and girls. Action Man himself is no longer limited to a few Second World War military outfits. Some of the most popular themes today are the Action Man footballers and the Action Man Polar Explorer. This growing range of figures means that every year there are new models, new themes, new costumes and new accessories to fulfill the demands of a new generation of youngsters.
Although there has been a lot of debate over whether playing with dolls is good for boys most people agree that it is a good thing. A doll is simply a prop that helps a child, boy or girl, create a fantasy world. They are fantastic props that help them to make sense of their world.
There is no question that action figures are here to stay and today’s ever growing range of models and themes confirm this.
Today’s models are available in a great range of costumes and themes with a fantastic range of accessories to choose from. There are a great selection of accessories to really bring todays Action Man to life. From an ever increasing armoury of weapons to horses and dog sled teams.
There is even an ever growing collectors market as action figure enthusiasts grow into adulthood. They no longer want to play with their action figures, but instead begin to collect them in all their various forms. There are a few vintage Action Man figures that are worth significant amounts if in pristine condition and ideally with their original packaging.
Although new toys appear every year Action Man figures remain a firm favourite that are clearly here to stay. The future for Action Man looks excellent as each new generation of youngsters are provided with more great costumes, themes and accessories.
